The 2025 Dallas Cup presented by Coca-Cola Announces Marquee Opening Day Matches at Cotton Bowl Stadium

DALLAS, Texas (Tuesday, March 4) – Dallas Cup, the oldest and most prestigious international youth soccer tournament in North America, is excited to announce the highly anticipated matchups for its marquee opening day triple-header at the historic Cotton Bowl Stadium on Sunday, April 13, 2025. The event will also feature the annual Opening Ceremonies and Parade of Teams presented by Whataburger. Tickets for the action-packed day are now on sale at www.dallascup.org. Prices range from $22 for adults to $13 for youths aged 13 and under (no additional fees at checkout), with complimentary admission for children aged 5 and under.

The opening day schedule at Cotton Bowl Stadium is as follows: 12:30 PM – U19 Dallas Cup Girls Australian School Girls (AUS) vs. FC Dallas ECNL (TX) 3:00 PM – U19 Gordon Jago Super Group São Paulo FC (BRA) vs. Newcastle United (ENG) 5:00 PM – Opening Ceremonies and Parade of Teams presented by Whataburger 6:30 PM – U19 Gordon Jago Super Group Real Madrid (ESP) vs. CF Monterrey (MEX)

 

A Closer Look at the Matchups: 12:30 PM – Australian School Girls (AUS) vs. FC Dallas ECNL 07 (TX) The defending U19 champions, Australian School Girls, return to Dallas with a new group of talent as they seek to retain their title. Standing in their way is a formidable FC Dallas ECNL side, which has dominated the Dallas Cup over the past three years, winning U15, U16, and U17 titles. The local squad will be aiming for an unprecedented fourth consecutive championship.

 

3:00 PM – São Paulo FC (BRA) vs. Newcastle United (ENG) Reigning Gordon Jago Super Group champions São Paulo FC will kick off their title defense against Premier League side Newcastle United. The Brazilian club secured its fourth Super Group crown last year, adding to titles in 1995, 2007, and 2009. Newcastle, making their first Dallas Cup appearance in over two decades, will aim to become the first English side to lift the prestigious Super Group trophy since Everton’s triumph in 2016.

 

5:00 PM – Opening Ceremonies and Parade of Teams presented by Whataburger A highlight of the tournament each year, the “Welcome World” Opening Ceremonies and Parade of Nations presented by Whataburger will showcase the more than 450 participating teams, totaling over 9,750 players and coaches. With representation from over 30 countries among both teams and referees, this Dallas Cup tradition celebrates the tournament’s diverse and international spirit.

 

6:30 PM – Real Madrid (ESP) vs. CF Monterrey (MEX) Spanish giants Real Madrid return to Dallas Cup seeking their third Super Group title, having previously claimed back-to-back championships in 1993 and 1994. In their sixth tournament appearance, Los Blancos aim to build on their strong 2023 campaign, where they reached the semifinals. Their opening night opponents, CF Monterrey, are the most experienced Super Group competitors, marking their 22nd tournament appearance. Rayados have been a consistent force in the competition and will be eager to capture their first Super Group crown.
