DALLAS, Texas (Thursday, Nov. 14) – Dallas Cup, the oldest and most prestigious international youth soccer tournament in North America, is pleased to announce the return of former Super Group champions FC Midtjylland at the 2025 edition of the tournament. The 2025 Dallas Cup presented by Coca-Cola will be played April 13 through April 20.
FC Midtjylland’s participation in 2025 will mark their third consecutive year competing in the Dallas Cup. The Danish side made a memorable debut in 2023, clinching the prestigious Gordon Jago Super Group title. Their championship run included a thrilling 3-2 semifinal victory over European giants Real Madrid (ESP) and a hard-fought 1-0 win against São Paulo FC (BRA) in the final. With the win, FC Midtjylland became the first Danish team to lift the coveted Super Group “Boot & Ball” trophy.
This past spring, FC Midtjylland returned to defend their Super Group title but faced tough competition in the group stage. Despite a win over St. Louis City (USA), narrow defeats to Botafogo (BRA) and Santos Laguna (MEX) prevented them from advancing. The Wolves are now eager to bounce back and compete for the Gordon Jago Super Group title again in 2025.
Off the field, FC Midtjylland continues to excel in player development. The club is home to Denmark’s first youth academy, established in 2004. Renowned for blending traditional coaching methods with cutting-edge analytics, their pioneering approach has earned FC Midtjylland a reputation as one of Europe’s leading youth development programs. Beyond their academy success, FC Midtjylland’s senior team recently secured the Danish Superliga title for the club’s fourth time. As a relatively new club, founded in 1999, another league title underscores the quality and depth of talent emerging from Midtjylland’s ranks. FC Midtjylland joins four-time Super Group champions São Paulo FC as the second team announced for the 2025 Gordon Jago Super Group. A total of 12 elite teams from top professional clubs and national federations worldwide will compete for the iconic “Boot & Ball” trophy next April. The 2025 Dallas Cup will be played from April 13 through April 20. As it prepares for the 46th edition of the tournament in 2025, the Dallas Cup continues to build on the remarkable legacy established since its inception in 1980. With the recent acquisition of the Dallas International Girls Cup, the tournament is poised to significantly expand in scope and size, as both the boys and girls brackets will now feature U10 through U19 age divisions.
The application window for teams is now open. Fans and teams can learn more about the tournament by visiting www.DallasCup.org or following @dallascup on social media.
